I last visited Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks in 1967. I was eleven. I don’t remember the details, but I do remember being awestruck by the beauty and the other worldly strangeness. I remember snow on our tent one morning. I remember Old Faithful and mud pots. I remember  swimming in a creek in Jackson Hole. Our 2010 trip exceeded all my expectations. We had clear blue skies, thunderstorms, hail, wind, beautiful calm mornings. We encountered elk, deer, bighorn sheep, pronghorn, bison, geese, beaver, marmots, black bears, grizzly bears and moose, among other critters. I wish we could have stayed another two weeks!
