Mammoth 2017
We just returned from a quick, last minute trip to Mammoth, where we camped (luckily) and hiked. By luckily, I mean we arrived in prime time summer with no reservations and basically stumbled into a beautiful campsite that had recently been vacated and not yet claimed. Our luck continued with beautiful weather, snow-capped mountains, lush green meadows and Sierra wildflowers everywhere. We were even blessed with a brief thundershower followed by a spectacular double full rainbow
The heavy winter snowfall exacted some serious damage to The Tioga Pass Resort and left The Saddlebag Lake General Store and Cafe uninhabitable and the water taxi dock and shed submerged (check out the photos).
