I often listen to music as I attempt to fall asleep. Sometimes it's my own stuff; sometimes it's random music on Spotify. One restless night I was listening and, while most of the music was familiar to me, there was this nice, simple guitar and piano love ballad that came up that I had never heard before. The two part harmony was soothing and intriguiging enough that I had to look to see who the artist was.  

That artist?   THE MONKEES!    Written by Ben Gibbard of Death Cab for Cutie, the achingly beautiful harmonies were sung by Michael Nesmith and Micky Dolenz, sadly the only two remaining Monkees alive. I played the song over and over again until I finally drifted off. I'm not the least bit embarassed that I fell for a Monkees song.
